This is an itroductory hands-on course, designed to teach basic skills. The entire time is spent on the water. You will be supervised by our CYA instructors.

The only things that you need to bring are a pair of non-slip, non-marking shoes, a bathing suit, and a Canadian Coast Guard approved lifejacket or PFD. We supply the rest !

From the first moment the students enters the NOLSC environment, safety is our number one concern. Safety is incorporated into every aspect of the program, from the CYA material we teach, to the quality of the equipment.

The best way to learn to sail is hands-on ! Right from the first day all students are in the boats and on the water. In the event of inclement weather there is on-shore theory, testing and extra curricular activities.

We take our teaching seriously, but FUN is the key ingredient in both the Junior  and Adult programs. There is a wonderful spirit throughout the whole program where good times prevail and frienships develop.
